Pension Transfers… “Gosh Richard that’s a LOT of money”

Final-Salary-Pension-Transfer-ValuesThat’s an extract from an email received last week from a friend who I had encouraged to apply for a transfer value from an insurance company with whom she had two year’s of employment many years ago and a deferred final salary pension.

She is not alone in being very pleasantly surprised. The following are examples of pension transfer values received by clients over the past few months:

Business Years of membership Transfer value
Aerospace 5 years £54,224
Chemicals 5 years £53,585
Reinsurance 7 years £133,421
Banking 15 years £215,037
Telecommunications 10 years £564,804

Do you have any idea just how much money is sitting in your old final salary pension plan?

All of us are entitled to a pension transfer quotation once in any twelve month period without charge. Just text PENSION TRANSFER to me on 07770 575122 along with your email address and I will send you a draft letter of request.

Until a couple of years ago a transfer out of a final salary pension scheme was generally not a good idea. However, substantial increases in quoted transfer values combined with the flexible way in which we can withdraw from personal pensions has completely changed the picture.

The traditional inflation linked pension from age 65 no longer fits most of our retirement lifestyles. Many of my clients have very exciting plans for the early years of retirement which flexible withdrawals from a personal pension plan cope with much, much better.

IT’S YOUR MONEY. You should decide when to spend it, not the trustees of a pension plan you contributed to many years ago.

I am not a regulated pension specialist so I cannot prepare the technical report you will need before you can transfer. However, what I can do is give you some “no nonsense” guidance and make sure this is really for you before getting involved in fees for technical reports.

What do you have to lose? IT’S YOUR MONEY.

How much is it and how big an impact could it have on your retirement plans?

Take some action today. Just text me and let’s get on with it.

Finally please share this post. This is a subject which many of your friends  probably have little knowledge and where action could have a massive impact on their retirement plans.

If you would like to know more the links to a couple of historical blog links on the subject are below.
