After months of drama, false hopes and unpleasant surprises it looks as if the Greek crisis is finally coming to a conclusion.
Whether there will be a final Euro fudge or, as I expect, Greece leaves the Euro at least there will be an agreement of sorts.
Whatever the outcome the effect on the UK economy will be minimal and it should not be long before there is a recovery in the UK stockmarket.
I am a simple soul who is not a fan of short term trading or trying to forecast market moves. What I am is a big, big fan of buying when everyone else is selling, and selling when everyone else is buying.
If you are fully invested – stay invested. If you have cash to invest then think very carefully about investing it at current levels. Perhaps spread your bets a little by phasing it in over the next couple of weeks.
If you are a medium term investor, as most of my clients are, don’t worry if it goes down some more before if goes up. You will have already bought at a substantial discount to April’s prices.
If you are a short term investor don’t be greedy. Before you invest decide what is a sensible level of profit and sell immediately you reach that level. For example you may decide that a 5% profit over just a couple of months is entirely acceptable.
