Would you have expected your Bank adviser to be offered a “champagne bonus” of 35% of his/her salary if sales targets were met? That was exactly what happened. The result?
More than 200 advisers received bonuses even though ALL of their sales were unsuitable or potentially unsuitable. What a surprise!
When will Lloyds learn? As long ago as 2003 they were fined for unsuitable sales of bonds.
Our advice? If you have ever bought an investment product from a Bank, COMPLAIN. Then think about whether the time has come to cut your losses and move on. If you would like to talk to an independent financial adviser just ask and we can find you a good one.
ACTION POINT
If you have been sold a financial product other than a straightforward bank account by one of the High Street Banks just email me with “Bank Complaint” in the subject line and your phone number. This will qualify you for a complimentary telephone appraisal and, if appropriate, a draft letter of complaint. You have absolutely nothing to lose. Vast sums of money have been set aside to deal with compensation claims. Is some of it yours?
